ITC Hotels has opened Welcomhotel Dehradun in the heart of the Doon Valley, adding a polished city hotel to Uttarakhand’s growing luxury map. The property offers 73 rooms, an outdoor pool, and banquet spaces, around 30 km from Jolly Grant Airport and close to Ghanta Ghar, Robber’s Cave, and the Forest Research Institute.

Club ITC Offer: Extra Value on Stays

To pull in early guests, Club ITC is giving ₹1,000 hotel credits per stay and 2X Club ITC Green Points as an introductory offer. For frequent travellers, this feels like the hotel version of a “5X rewards” sale on your favourite credit card.

Taj Mussoorie Foothills: Another Big Name

In February 2025, Taj Mussoorie Foothills, Dehradun also opened its doors, with 115 keys including 16 suites, tucked in the Himalayan foothills near Malsi and the Mussoorie road. It targets guests who want resort-style stays, wedding venues, and curated nature experiences like forest walks and treks.

What These Openings Say About Uttarakhand Tourism

When both ITC and Taj open new hotels in the same region within a short span, they are not betting on “one long weekend rush”. They are backing Dehradun–Mussoorie as a long-term hub for:

  • Short breaks from Delhi NCR and nearby cities

  • High-value destination weddings and corporate offsites

  • Nature-first stays with good flight and road access

In simple words, big brands see Uttarakhand not just as “hill station nostalgia”, but as a steady, premium market where guests will pay more for loyalty benefits, better food, and reliable service. Think of it as tourism moving from “let’s manage somehow” homestays to full-service hotels where you know what you are getting before you check in.
